
Throughout my career I have received honorary doctorates awarded by prestigious universities from different parts of the world, as well as awards from institutions that are fighting for the preservation of natural resources and equal access to opportunities for all human beings. I express my appreciation to those who have considered me worthy of such distinctions, and I invite them to continue working together in projects endorsing the principles of sustainable development.
PODER Green Forum, Miami
In April 2007, the PODER-Green Forum brought business, political and academic leaders from throughout the world together in Miami to discuss the most pressing issue of our time: the environment.
As a main activity, PODER and the Boston Consulting Group rewarded selected personalities for their important initiatives throughout the Americas, among them Stephan Schmidheiny who received the Philanthropy Award.
