GrupoNueva

An industrial holding committed to Latin America and sustainable development

When in 1994 Stephan Schmidheiny decided to sell his Swiss-based businesses and concentrate his activities in Latin America, he founded GrupoNueva, which covered all his entrepreneurial activities in the region. Its divisions, Amanco, Masisa and The Plycem Company, were leaders in the areas of:

  • Production and marketing of water management solutions (pipe systems for drinking water, waste water, irrigation, and infrastructure).

  • Production and marketing of wood products.

  • Production of lightweight housing construction systems.

Amanco and The Plycem Company divisions were sold in March and December 2007, respectively. Today, GrupoNueva controls Masisa, and is a private holding company with leadership positions throughout the Americas that generates value for its shareholders and society, through its triple bottom line management system.
